Rainbow Crayon's

I'm sure you mom's out there have seen this craft. I have wanted to do it for a while and finally had an afternoon that we needed a craft to keep us busy. It is basically using old crayons and baking them in muffin pans to make your own colored crayons. Here are how ours turned out....

First we took off all of the paper.

An exact o knife helped speed things along.

Then we separated them by color.

Then we put them in the muffin tin in whatever color pattern your little heart desires! :)

Then we baked them. I think we did 240 degrees. But I found as long as you watched them it probably didn't matter what temp you bake them at. When they were melted I took them out and put them in the fridge until they were solid. Maybe like 20 or 30 minutes.

When they were ready they literally just popped right out.

Then the coloring fun began!!

on cloud nine

There are SO many things lately that just make me so very happy! I have to share them with you....

DANCING with my kids. They LOVE it! They each have their own unique dance style. It is so fun to watch them be so happy. It also gets some energy out so they are tired and actually nap! LOL They also love Dance A Lot ROBOT. Its a cute program on tv that teaches them a cute and easy dances.

MUSIC...has been so powerful for me lately. I recently made a "happy" playlist on my phone. Here are a few of the songs that uplift my mood and melt my heart.....

"Who says" by Selena Gomez
"All I want is you" by Barry Louis Polisar
"The Cave" by Mumford and Sons
"Laughed until we cried" Jason Aldean
"Mamas song" Carrie Underwood
"There goes my life" Kenny Chesney

Listening to my kids LAUGHING. They are at the age now that they enjoy playing together! The run around the house just laughing at each other. Ethan makes funny faces and noises to make the girls laugh. Even as I am typing this post they are all in the girls room screaming and laughing all while the girls are supposed to be taking a nap. I guess I can't complain, at least they are not fighting. LOL

My HUBBY! I feel like our relationship has grown so much in the last year. We have had so many fun times together and I would not trade him for ANYTHING!!

ok here are some of the more simple things that really put a smile on my face lately.....

Today Im a proud momma!

Today I took Ethan to the doctor for what was supposed to be his 4 year old check up. Getting him in kind of got lost in the shuffle of the holidays. He was so awesome. He is in the 98% for height and average for weight, so tall and skinny! He did all of the little tests so well. His sight is awesome, coordination is great and he can even hop on one foot, which apparently most boys cant do til age 5?? He was so brave getting 3 shots and now is done with his shots til Jr. High!! He even thanked the nurse after the shots while he was still crying. He has always been really pale so the doc thought we should have his iron tested. Soooo another poke! He was so brave getting his blood drawn. He only cried for a minute with all of his shots and then was his happy self again. While we were in the waiting room of the lab he was reading a book and two women asked how old he was and commented on how great of a reader he was! One was even a preschool teacher!
